It’s no secret that one of the most sought out events for SXSW is Fader Fort. For the past 16 years, hundreds of people line up for hours to gain entry into the most exclusive events and why wouldn’t they. Fader Fort has hosted over hundreds and hundreds of unforgettable perforrmances from such artists including Drake, Billie Ellish, Kendrick Lamar, Amy Winehouse and last year, Rae Sremmurd (I was there and everyone lost their minds). It’s an event that organizers keep attendees guessing about until the last moment because although they release their lineup, it’s only a partial lineup with a surprise performance or two to shock the attendees letting everyone who wasn’t there feeling left out.
For SXSW 2019, Fader Fort returns to Austin to host an “exclusive experience at multi-use, indoor and outdoor space” that will boast a “three day celebration of music and surrounding culture with live performances from artists.” These artists as of now include New York indie band Charly Bliss, Atlanta rapper Lil Gotit, Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion, indie artist from Indiana Omar Apollo and more to be announced.
In addition to the live performances over the three days, Fader Fort will also be introducing their first-ever panel programming in collaboration with Spotify Premium accessible to Spotify Premium subscribers. Recently announced newest Major League Soccer team Austin FC, who will begin play in 2021 will partner with Fader Fort to provide Austin FC supporters and Austinites with a “unique opportunity to attend this year’s Fader Fort via Ausin FC social platforms.” RED will be displaying the new “HYDROGEN ONE” smartphone that is the first ever “4-view machine that’s better than 3D without the glasses” and will provide guests the opportunity to win one. Smartwater will also be in attendance with ambassadors having in-depth discussion about music and wellness. Spotify Premium will provide the chance for Spotify Premium subscribers to have fast-track entry into Fader Fort, a special viewing platform and more to be announced. And the app TikTok will make their presence felt at Fader Fort giving guests who have the app to be invited to the TikTok Power Lounge to take a breather and get an opportunity to win exclusive merchandise. Last but not least Xbox will have the VIP Xbox Gaming Lounge that will have Xbox Game Pass game play available for performing artists and VIPs.
Anyone who’s attended Fader Fort in previous years knows there is not a public RSVP. Fader Fort is a guest list-only event with invites arriving via email.
