SXSW Music Festival 2019 Announces Tenth Round of Showcasing Artists Featuring Andrew W.K., …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead and Sir Sly

It’s the last week of February and with SXSW 2019 just a few weeks away, the festival has released its 10th round of showcasing artists. The festival has announced hundreds of performers that will be coming to Austin, TX from March 11-17, 2019. It all got started way back in October 2018 when they announced the initial lineup featuring Amanda Palmer, Oh Sees and Laura Jane Grace and the Devouring Mothers.

This week’s announcement carries more exciting, big-name artists than we’ve seen over the last few rounds. Many of these performers recently released new music, have albums coming out in the next few months or are working on new music, making for an extremely exciting week in Central Texas.

Topping the list is motivational glam garage savant Andrew W.K., who released the uplifting and head-pounding album You’re Not Alone last year. The record, which was his first proper full-length studio album of original music since Close Calls With Brick Walls.

Other Andrew on the other side of the musical spectrum, Andrew Bird, will also be performing. He’s got a new album out in March called My Finest Work Yet.

Post-punk band …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, who happen to be Austin-based, will be at SXSW as well as Charly Bliss, DJ Spinderella of Salt-n-Pepa fame, Courtney Marie Andrews, Hovvy (from Austin), RF Shannon (also from Austin), rapper Open Mike Eagle, rapper Tierra Whack and alternative country star William Tyler. Other noteworthy performers announced today include De La Soul, Mavis Staples, Sir Sly and Har Mar Superstar.

Patty Griffin, Andrew Bird, Courtney Marie Andrews and William Tyler were announced yesterday as the performers that will play at the Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake. The show will take place March 16.
