FLOOD Magazine was established only five years ago but has made a mark in the arts and culture of print and digital publication. The magazine produced every quarter covers music, film, television, art, travel and everything in between and has run cover stories on Run The Jewels, Jack White, the cast of Veep, political cartoonist Rob Rogers and various other public figures. Quoted as saying, “in a noisy world, we highlight the best and most intriguing players in pop culture through engaging media, intelligent op-eds, and thought-provoking interviews and features.” FLOOD also produces annual events across the country from FLOODfest in Chicago to FLOODfest during SXSW. And for SXSW 2019, FLOOD Magazine returns to Austin for their fifth annual FLOODfest as they bring “the noise back” to the Cedar Street Courtyard from March 12th & 13th.
FLOODfest will bring an array of artist including Atlanta legends Dungeon Family (feat. Big Boi, Goodie Mob and Organized Noize’s Sleepy Brown.) FLOOD is presenting the debut show of the highly aniticpated renuion tour of 2019. Among Dugeon Family, FLOODfest will also feature hip hop artist Leikeli47, who performed at SXSW 2018 and delivered a high energy set that left the crowd wanting more, indie group Broken Social Scene who have composed different styles of music from film music to ambient minimalism to orchestrated Baroque pop, indie pop/rock Illuminati Hotties will surely awake the crowd with songs from their debut album Kiss Yr Frenemies and more artists who are scheduled to hit the stage over two days. Both days kick off at 11:30 am and there is a special incentive for eary birders as FLOODfest will be dishing out breakfast tacos until supplies last.
