Singer and songwriter Maggie Rogers blew fans away at a recent concert, bringing out Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine. On Tuesday at the O2 Brixton music hall in London, Rogers introduced Welch as her “musical big sister” before bringing her on stage. Welch is one one of the most prolific singers of the past decade, with Florence and the Machine breaking out with the track “Dog Days Are Over” in 2008. The audience was shocked when Rogers brought out Welch, with the two performing Rogers’ song “Light On.” Maggie Rogers is an up and coming singer songwriter, with her debut album Heard It In A Past Life releasing at the end of last month.
After breaking through with her single “Alaska” in 2016, Rogers gained a large following and set her sights on releasing her first EP. She accomplished this with the release of Now That the Light Is Fading in 2017, which gave fans a first real taste of more of her music. Now the singer has released her first full album, which debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart. The album’s breakout hit was the track “Light On,” which was what Rogers and Welch performed together in London. After the song the two hugged and Welch left the stage, staying only for the one performance. The video of the guest appearance can be found below.
