Helms Alee Announces New Album Noctiluca for April 2019 Release

Rock band Helms Alee has announced that their next album, Noctiluca, will be released on April 26. Along with the announcement of the album, the band has released their first single from the project. The song, titled “Interachnid,” will serve as the opener for the album. Noctiluca is going to be Helms Alee’s fifth full length album, following up 2016s Stillicide. The group originally formed in 2007, and has been making music together ever since. The band is composed of Dana James, Hozoji Margullis and Ben Verellen. Following the release of their upcoming project, Helms Alee is set to go on tour, however the dates have not yet been announced.

Alongside the release of the single, Helms Alee also released a music video for “Interachnid.” The mind-bending music video depicts a series of menacing psychedelic landscapes and ominous figures. The background flickers between a slew of pulsating and overlapping images, often showing large figures looming over the camera. The video is exactly as intense as you would expect from a song like this, with both the video and the music working together to deliver a mind-blowing experience.

The new “Interachnid” single uses bassist Dana James’ talents to their fullest extent, setting the tone for the entire track. The track also notably features vocals from all three of the group’s members, as Verellen typically sings for the group. The song combines the haunting vocals of James and Margullis with the deep-chested singing of Verellen. If the rest of the album is anything like “Interachnid,” fans of Helms Alee should be very excited for Noctiluca. The full tracklist for the upcoming album can be found below and tour dates will be announced in the near future. Also below is the music video for “Interachnid.”
