Violent Femmes and X Announce Spring 2019 Co-Headlining Tour Dates

Punk rock greats Violent Femmes and X have just announced the dates for their upcoming co-headlining tour. Spring 2019 will see the coming together of these two legendary bands, as they hit the road to perform together for a total of 8 shows. Their tour will begin on May 5 at Humphrey’s in San Diego, California, and will come to a close on May 17 at The Pageant in St. Louis, Missouri. Tickets can be purchased through Violent Femmes’ website.

Prior to their co-headlining dates, Violent Femmes will also be having two solo performances on May 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and on May 4, at BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach, California. Additionally, both bands will be featuring in KAABOO Texas’ lineup on May 11 in Arlington, Texas. Other notable acts for the Texas edition of KAABOO include The Killers, Kid Rock, and Sting. Founded in 1980, Violent Femmes dominated the alternative rock scene of the 1980s, with their self-titled debut album reaching platinum status. The band disbanded for a brief period between 2007 to 2009, before reuniting in 2013. Their co-headlining partners X, are also punk rock pioneers with the charismatic Exene Cervenka on vocals. Just recently, Cervenka and vocalist/bassist John Doe were featured on American rock band Garbage’s single, “Destroying Angels.”
