Lizzy Plapinger, also known by her solo act name LPX, has just released a new pop-influenced song, “Give Up The Ghost.” This release follows Plapinger’s tour as the main supporting artist for MØ, as well as her August 2018 release of “Might Not Make It Home.” Plapinger is one-half of the indie duo MS MR, the other member being producer Max Hershenow. She also co-founded Neon Gold Records, who is tied to acts like MØ, Charli XCX, and Tove Lo.
The release of “Give Up The Ghost” comes just in time for Valentine’s Day, but for different reasons. It is a catchy break-up anthem that is underscored by a floaty and progressively uplifting production track in the background. The lyrics allude to the process of letting go with phrases like “Once you know better it’s hard to go back” and with the two words “I’m done” reemphasized throughout the track. Plapinger released her debut EP Bolt in the Blue in January 2018 that included hit single, “Slide”. In October last year, LPX was also part of the all-female lineup of Washington D.C.’s All Things Go festival. Her work with MS MR was last released in 2015, when the duo put our their second album titled How Does It Feel.
