Annie Erin Clark, more widely known by her professional name St. Vincent, has just released a highly absorbing music video for her hit “MASSEDUCTION,” which is from her 2017 album of the same name. St. Vincent recently enjoyed an eventful Grammy season, with “MASSEDUCTION” winning Best Rock Song, and with her and Dua Lipa captivating the crowd with their performance.
With her latest release, the art rock sensation continues her streak putting forth weird, trippy, yet visually appealing music videos to tie to her hit songs. The video begins with four faceless figures gyrating to the music while an atomic bomb goes off in the background. Soon, Clark’s face takes over the screen as she appears donning a headdress made out of hands, while mouthing out the lyrics and emitting sound waves from her forehead. These two scenes shift back and forth throughout the video until the end, when St. Vincent reappears with a new set of pink curls and silver glasses. As FLOOD Magazine describes, this is truly a “soundtrack for the apocalypse” and one “to dance to when the bomb drops.”
Apart from her successful Grammy showings, St. Vincent has had a busy start to 2019. The 36-year-old talent was recently featured on Malibu Love Session’s lineup along with Red Hot Chili Peppers, where she covered their song “Breaking The Girl.” She is set to play at one of Colombia’s largest festivals, Estereo Picnic, and will also be producing new album for indie band Sleater-Kinney.
