As the new year settles and as we move into a new month, fans of singer songwriter Amanda Palmer slowly begin to count down the days until her 2019 North American tour begins. Yes, she is coming to a town near you beginning in March. The tour, which will be an intimate set of shows where it will be Palmer, a stage, her fans, a grand piano and sometimes an a ukulele. Why? Because, why not.
Today, Palmer has announced some interesting news regarding the upcoming tour. According to a recent newsletter written by the singer, Palmer gave some insight on the tour saying that the whole crew (sound, lights, costume crew) everyone involved in every aspect of the tour is female. In the newsletter, Palmer expressed that “it was a deliberate decision…to give work to my fellow females in the music industry, and also to breathe easily while I travel in the hands of the sisterhood. it’s pretty phenomenal, and I’m really proud of the team we’ve put together.”
Palmer will grace stages across North America. She will make stops in cities such s Detroit, Montreal, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisico, Denver, Seattle and much more. Tickets for the tour are available now to purchase with only one show sold out. The Portland show on June 8th is sold out but if you reside in Portland, don’t worry. Palmer has added a new show, the following night for those who still want to attend. Though, she urges fans to buy tickets quickly; “please, please hurry and get tickets for those. everything is selling fast and with any luck the entire run should be well sold out by the time i reach your city.”
