Singer Chris Brown has been accused of assaulting a woman once again, resulting in his arrest in Paris earlier this week. Although this case is currently being investigated, according to the Paris Prosecutor’s Office, Brown has been released from jail after being questioned, and does not currently face any criminal charges.
Brown along with two other men were arrested on Monday after a 24-year old woman accused the singer, his friend and his body guard of raping her at the Mandarin Oriental luxury hotel, which resides in Paris, earlier this month. According to CNN Brown was released after posting $2,000 bail, pleading not guilty at a subsequent hearing and is currently awaiting trial.
The singer has expressed his innocence both publicly and through his lawyer in response. One of his denial posts included a picture with a caption that reads “THIS B!TCH LYIN.”
“I wanna make it perfectly clear ….. This is false and a whole lot of CAP!,” he wrote in all caps via the Instagram post.”… For my daughter and my family this is so disrespectful and is against my character and morals!!!!”
Despite these denials Brown has faced numerous accusations of assault and various amounts of parole and jail time going back nearly a decade. Back in 2009 Brown spent 5 years in probation and a community service order after physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in her car. Photos of Rihanna’s face were spread across the media after the incident sparking widespread outrage.
In 2013 Brown and one of his bodyguards were arrested and charged with felony assault after an alleged fight took place outside the singer’s hotel in Washington. His charge was later reduced to a misdemeanor.
Later that year he was kicked out of rehab for smashing his mother’s car window during a family counseling session. A judge ordered him to another rehab center, which he was also later kicked out of in 2014.
After receiving the boot from rehab once again Brown spent a couple of months in jail. During this time in jail he plead guilty to violating his parole for the Washington incident, and plead guilty to time served, which amounted to one day and a $150 fine.
Back in 2016 Brown was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after a woman called the police on him stating that she felt threatened by the singer. He was later freed after that incident, with his lawyer claiming that the allegations made against Brown during this time were “demonstrably false.”
As recently as 2017 Brown got himself into another assault incident, after he allegedly punched a man for taking an unauthorized photo of him in West Palm Beach, Florida. This occurred after a concert that occurred earlier that month.
