Ian Beattie of Game of Thrones Embarks on a Quest for His Grail in Beirut’s New Video for “Landslide”

While Meryn Trant may have been killed off from Game of Thrones years ago, in Beirut’s new video for “Landslide,” the character lives on. The video, which was shot in Kazakhstan, stars Ian Beattie, who plays a knight in not-so-shining armor. He embarks on a quest that brings him to a beautiful maiden in distress, who is freed by our hero’s mysterious magical key. The video was directed by Eoin Glaister.

“Landslide” is taken from Beirut’s upcoming new album Gallipoli, which is scheduled to be released on the first of February, 2019. The song is one of the more straightforward in Beirut’s catalog, which combines elements of indie rock and folk with world music, particularly Eastern European sounds. The song still features Zach Condon’s easily-identifiable vocals.

Beirut will be playing shows following the release of Gallilopi. They’ll play back-to-back shows in New York city before traveling up and down the East Coast (including a 3rd NYC show in Brooklyn). Then the band will head west with shows in Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul, MN. After a West Coast run, they’ll go abroad to Europe. They’ll also play at Noise Pop 2019, which was recently announced.
