Bikini Kill, a popular punk rock band of the 90s, are reuniting to perform a few special shows this Spring in both New York and Los Angeles. The band will include the original and iconic line-up of Kathleen Hanna, Tobi Vail, and Kathi Wilcox as well as support from Erica Dan Lyle who will join them as their guitarist.
The upcoming shows are going to be the band’s first full shows since their breakup in 1997. The last time the band performed together was in November of 2017, 20 years after their initial breakup. So if you are a fan, mark your calendar, ask for the day off because you will only get three chances of seeing Bikini Kill perform together. The first show will be on April 25th at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles followed by a performance at the Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn New York on May 31st. The last show will be held in New York, New York at Terminal 5 on June 1st. These shows aside, there is no other information whether Bikini Kill will do any other shows or release any new music.

Formed in October of 1990, Bikini Kill consisted of members singer and songwriter, Kathleen Hanna drummer, Tobi Vail, bassist Kathi Wilcox, and guitarist Billy Karren who later joined the band. According to the press release, the group is considered a pioneer of the “the Riot Grrrl movement in the early ’90s via their political lyrics, zines, and confrontational live shows, Bikini Kill encouraged women and girls to start bands as a means of cultural resistance.” Throughout their career, the group has released a demo tape, two EPs, two LPs and three singles via their own independent label Bikini Kill Records.
28 years since coming together to form Bikini Kill, the band have since left their mark in the music world and fans of the band can now listen to Bikini Kill’s entire music catalog from their living room. During this past fall, the band uploaded their entire discography on streaming sites everywhere Fans can listen to their entire discography via Spotify, Tidaland and Apple Music which will feature releases from Revolution Girl Style Now released back in 1991 to The Singles released in 1998. The later features vocals from Joan Jett.
