UNKLE has announced their new album The Road: Part II / Lost Highway is set to be released March 29th via Songs For The Def, frontman’s James Lavelle’s label. The album will be split into two acts and serves as the follow up to their High Fidelity ranked album The Road: Part 1.
In a press release, Lavelle discussed the upcoming album, stating “It’s the mid-part of a trilogy. The first record is like you’re leaving home; you’re naive and on a journey of discovery. There are elements of my early days in there, as well as a bit of everything since. There’s an optimism and excitement to the record, as there was with me having to direct this project alone for the first time.” e continues to say “This record is the journey. You’re on the road, out there in the world. There are let downs, highs, lows, love, loss and experiences. The third record to come is basically about coming home; wherever that may be.”
The Road: Part II / Lost Highway will also feature some pretty solid guests, including Mark Lanegan, Tom Smith of Editors, The Cult’s Ian Astbury and The Clash’s Mick Jones. See the full tracklist below and the cover art created by artist John Stark. Preorders can be made here.
They have released two singles from the new record so far, ‘Ar.Mour’ (feat. Elliott Power and Miink), and “The Other Side” which features a guest vocal from Tom Smith of Editors. Check out the video of “Ar.Mour” below.
