SXSW Music Festival 2019 Announces Third Round of Showcasing Artists Featuring Priests, Nicole Atkins and My Brightest Diamond

It’s a new year and with 2019’s South By Southwest festival looming in March, another lineup announcement is upon us. This marks the third round of showcasing artists, after artists like Amanda Palmer, Laura Jane Grace & The Devouring Mothers and Oh Sees in the initial round and TEEN and Deerhunter in the second round.

Today, joining those groups and hundreds of others are nearly 300 new performers. Highlighting this round are Priests, Nicole Atkins, My Brightest Diamond, Abhi the Nomad, Bedouine, E.B. The Younger, Good Fuck, Madeline Kenney, Molly Burch, Steady Holiday and Surfbort.

DC indie punk band Priests broke out in a big way in 2017 with their debut LP Nothing Feels Natural, a solid entry into the storied canon of guitar music from our nation’s capital.  Nicole Atkins released one of the best albums of the year in 2017 with Goodnight Rhonda Lee.

There are two seemingly new names in that list that are actually quite familiar faces. E.B. The Younger is the new project from Midlake’s Eric Pulido, while Good Fuck is the project of Tim Kinsella and Jenny Pulse. Both groups will be showing off new tunes from their 2019 albums, which are both due in the next few months.

Bedouine impressed last year with her unique take on the singer-songwriter genre, releasing a self-titled album. Madeline Kenney and Molly Burch also fall into the singer-songwriter mold, and they’ll be at SXSW this Spring.  SXSW 2019 will run from Monday, March 11 to Sunday, March 17, 2019.
