Singer Joy Williams has announced the dates for her upcoming Spring tour. The tour is set to begin in February and continue until the beginning of May. Williams is an incredibly talented singer who has won four Grammy awards and was half of the prolific duo The Civil Wars. The tour comes at the same time that Williams is set to debut her newest album, Front Porch. While the album does not have a set release date yet, it is scheduled to come out later this Spring and Williams has already released two singles for the project. Williams has been making music since her debut release in 2001, gaining praise from fans and critics alike with her vocal performances. Following a string of solo albums throughout the early 2000s, Williams teamed up with John Paul White to form The Civil Wars in 2008. The two worked together for 6 years and earned four Grammys, eventually going their separate ways in 2014.
During her time in The Civil Wars, Williams gained a larger following and her music was exposed to many new people through the duo. The song “Safe & Sound” by Taylor Swift featured the group and was put in the hit movie The Hunger Games in 2012. Since the duo’s dissolution in 2014, Williams has focused again on her solo career. In 2015 Williams released her first solo album since beginning to focus on The Civil Wars full time; it was titled VENUS. The album saw her continuing to grow as a performer and proved she was still able to produce beautiful music on her own. In order to promote the upcoming Front Porch album, Williams has released two singles so far, titled “Canary” and “The Trouble with Wanting.” Both of these songs showcase Joy Williams incredible singing ability and her talent as a musician.
