Fans of the rock band Tool have been waiting patiently for new music to arise from the band. It has been 13 years since Tool released their last album 10,000 Days back in 2006. Now, according to the PRP, a promising update was issued by frontman, Maynard James Keenan.
In a social media post uploaded on Twitter earlier today, Keenan updated fans on where the band was at in regards to their new album. Keenan confirms that final vocals done by him were recorded and the long process of mixing is currently in the works. Check out the official tweet down below.
Update- Final vocals tracked MONTHS ago. Then U.S.-UK-Euro run w #APC. If Tool all inst are tracked, long process of Mixing now. Meanwhile write/film/track w @puscifer for #puscifer2020 & troll the band FBs with wine posts. #funnyshit #whileyouwerewhiningiwasworking

Keenan also updated fans that he has been working on material for one of his other bands. He wrote that he has been working on new Puscifer material with apparent plans for a 2020 release. For the new Tool album, the band has brought along producer Joe Barresi of Queens of The Stone Age. So far, no date is set for the release but come back to this space for any updated news.
The band has kept fans in the light when it comes to their continuous work on their new album. Tool’s guitarist, Adam Jones went on his Instagram account and posted a picture of him in the studio standing beside Barresi.
2019 will see Tool performing sets throughout the festival circuit including taking the stage at Welcome to Rockville, Hellfest Open Air, Firenze Rocks, Download Festival UK and much more. So, even if the waiting for new music from your favorite band is hard, know that there will be plenty of chances to catch your favorite band live on the road.
UPDATE (2/6): For Tool fans, bad news in the air. According to news sources such as Spin and Loudwire, the new record that was apparently in the works is no longer going to happen on the planned date. It appeared that Tool was set to release sometime in April mentioned by some of the members a few weeks ago.
Now, it appears that, Keenan has squashed the rumor mill and set fans straight. On Twitter earlier this week, a dedicated fan asked Keenan the question; “is the rumors true about the new album dropping in April?” The singer responded with a solid no.
So for those fans who were jumping with glee at the thought of new music in the month ahead will have to put wait a little longer.
