The progressive Italian rock band Goblin have just released a commemorative album, Fearless (37512 Zombie Ave), which includes reworked versions of the best songs from their score of George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, according to Consequence of Sound. This album comes after Waxwork Records released a 40th anniversary vinyl reissue of the 1978 Dawn of the Dead soundtrack earlier this year, which included all 17 tracks Goblin recorded for the film released on vinyl for the first time.
Prior to the vinyl reissue, the soundtrack was only available to fans in smaller parts. The most tracks collected on a single release was 11 of the original 17 tracks, until February 20th.
Fearless (27513 Zombie Ave) is only comprised of seven tracks, with two of the tracks being from their Suspiria soundtrack. The release of their album came out on Christmas Eve, just in time for fans to receive a last-minute Christmas present, but material to listen to into the new year.
This Italian band have always been known for their contributions to creating soundtracks for films, such as Profondo Rosso (1975), Patrick (1979), St Helens (1981) and Phenomena (1985). The band has also undergone the process of several revivals with new members entering and exiting throughout the 1970s and 1980s, to the early 2000s and from 2010 until now.
