Mariah Carey‘s holiday staple “All I Want For Christmas is You” has broken the Spotify record for most streams in day, according to Fader. The song reached 10.8 million streams as of Christmas Eve, according to Chart Data.
The track popped back onto the iTunes charts back in November and had been gaining streams as the Christmas season approached, nearly two decades after its release. Carey herself took to Twitter to comment.
The record was previously held by XXXTentacion‘s “SAD!” at 10.4 streams. This record was set on June 19, one day after the rapper was shot and killed.
