A Christmas EP Featuring Stars from Into the Spider-Verse Is Real and It’s Called A Very Spidey Christmas

A sweet new Christmas EP, A Very Spidey Christmas was just released to coincide with the new film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Marvel’s new animated film. The funny part about it is there’s even a running joke in the film about Spider-Man releasing his own Christmas album. In fact, the song “Spidey Bells,” by Chris Pine (who voices Peter Parker in the film) plays during the credits. This festive Christmas album is full of good cheer and silly breaks by the actors which offer nice comic relief during the holiday season. The album includes vocals from Into the Spider-Verse actors Chris Pine, Jorma Taccone, Shameik Moore, and Jake Johnson.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is an animated superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales / Spider-Man, produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation in association with Marvel, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. In Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales becomes one of many Spider-Men as they team up to save New York City from Kingpin. It is set in a shared multiverse called the “Spider-Verse”, which features different alternate universes.

The film was directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman from a screenplay by Phil Lord and Rothman, and stars Shameik Moore as Morales, alongside Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry, Lily Tomlin, Luna Lauren Velez, Zoë Kravitz, John Mulaney, Kimiko Glenn, Nicolas Cage, Kathryn Hahn, and Liev Schreiber.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse had its world premiere at the Regency Village Theater in Los Angeles on December 1, 2018 and had a wide release in the United States on December 14, 2018. The film has grossed over $73 million worldwide on a $90 million budget, and was praised for its animation, characters, story, voice acting, humor, and soundtrack. It received Best Animated Feature nominations at the 76th Golden Globe Awards and 24th Critics’ Choice Awards. A sequel and several spin-offs are in development.

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
