New Zealand pop duo Broods recently put out a bunch of exciting information about their plans for the near future. First, they announced the release of their third studio album Don’t Feed The Pop Monster which is set to release on February 1st of 2019. Along with that they released the second single from the project “Everything Goes (Wow). In addition, the group will be going on tour following the release of their new album next spring. The tour will include a show here in Philly at Union Transfer on April 16th.
The duo is made up of siblings Georgia Nott, and her older brother Caleb. The two played music together their entire lives, but started taking it seriously when they were part of a larger indie rock band in college. The two became devoted to their music, and dropped out to pursue a career as a due. The two competed at the Smokefreerockquest competition in 2011 where they met judge Joel Little who is most famous for producing “Royals” by Lorde. He helped the two throughout their early beginnings, and was a big reason that they took off so quickly in their careers.
The band has been busy the last few years touring with names such as Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith, and most recently Taylor Swift. Don’t Feed the Pop Monster will be their first studio album since Conscious which released in June of 2016. In this time, Georgia also started her own solo career with her first album The Venus Project. Thus far, we only have two singles from their upcoming album, but both have already caught the eyes of many who have been clamoring for new music for some time now.
