Iconic rock band, Deftones, have confirmed that they will be releasing new music in 2019. The band has been one of the most influential alternative metal groups since the 1990s, with many huge acts owing much of their sound to listening to Deftones music. Now the band is getting ready to release new music; teasing on social media in recent months about their work on their next project. Deftones’ last album, 2016’s Gore, was their 8th studio album and proved the group has no signs of slowing down. The project contained powerful alternative metal songs “Doomed User” and the title track “Gore.” Both, along with the other songs on the album, displayed the mix of screaming vocals and atmospheric vocals that originally set Deftones apart from other groups in the 90s.
The announcement that the group has been working on new material is no secret to fans of the band, with the members posting various photos from the studio to Instagram in recent months. Now, however, they have posted a photo implying the band’s next release will in fact take place in 2019. While the group did not explicitly say they were releasing music next year, the caption included the tags #2019 and #newmusic, making it seem almost certain a big announcement is in the works.
