Jenny Lewis Announces New Album On The Line for Spring 2019 Release and Announces Spring 2019 Tour Dates

Jenny Lewis, the former Rilo Kiley frontwoman, has announced she will be returning to the stage with new music from her highly anticipated fourth studio solo album, On The Line. This new album will be released in spring 2019 and will serve as a follow-up to her 2014 critically acclaimed album, The Voyager.

The new Warner Bros. record features 11 original tracks written by Lewis herself and recorded at Capitol Record’s well-known Studio B. And while Lewis has yet to drop any new tracks from the record, she has confirmed high-profile artists like Beck, Jim Kentler, Ringo Starr, Ryan Adams, former Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench and multi-instrumentalist/producer Don Was will accompany her on the album.

The once child actor turned indie rockstar hasn’t taken a break since recording her last and new record. Back in 2016, Lewis released a self-titled collaborative album entitled Nice as Fuck alongside Au Revoir Simone’s Erika Forster and The Like’s Tennessee Thomas. Since then, Lewis has provided background vocals for St. Vincent’s song “Pills” in 2017 and King Tuff’s song “Thru the Cracks” earlier this year.

Lewis also announced she will embark on a North American tour to promote the album in full. The tour will begin around the end of March in Bloomington, IL and will end on a high note at San Diego’s famous House of Blues on May 26. Pre-sale tickets for the tour will go live on Wednesday, December 5 at 10 a.m. local time, while the regular tickets will go on sale to the general public the following Friday, December 7 at 10 a.m. local time.

Michael Izquierdo: I'm a third-year student at The New School studying Journalism & Design in order to tell stories that are often misrepresented or unreported on. I want to take my writing and report on stories within the LGBTQ+ and Latinx community. In terms of music, play me a smooth jazz tune, an upbeat pop song, or an unheard indie artist and I'm sure I'll become infatuated by the music. I am always here to share someone else's story, to uplift a voice in any community.
