Today we take another step towards the biggest music festival in the land, South By Southwest. The festival has announced the second round of showcasing artists for its 2019 festival, with 250 performers this time around. The festival is set to begin Monday, March 11 and will wrap up on Sunday March 17, 2019.
As usual, there are a few stand-out performers to be announced, joining the ranks of dozens of relatively unknown acts hoping to turn some heads in Austin, TX. Deerhunter recently announced Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared?, their Cate Le Bon-produced album scheduled for a January 18 2019 release. One of mxdwn’s favorite artists, Brooklyn indie pop quartet TEEN will also be in Austin for SXSW, joined by Oklahoma rockers BRONCHO, uniquely-named Swedish band Death by Unga Bunga, Canadian punks The Dirty Nil, Shy Boys, Tennis System, T-Rextasy, Iowa folk troubadour William Elliott Whitmore and Chicago’s Waco Brothers.
