A Perfect Circle, who debuted the video for “So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish” earlier this month, release limited-edition 7-inch of the track with a B-side featuring Billy Howerdel and Maynard James Keenan’s take on AC/DC’s “Dog Eat Dog,” according to The PRP.
“A belated farewell nod to Malcolm Young, who, along with Bon Scott, played a significant role in my rebellious, hasher youth. God Speed, Malcolm.” Maynard James Keenan said about the cover.
The “So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish”/”Dog Eat Dog” vinyl single is available exclusively via Record Store Day Black Friday. For a list of participating independent retailers please visit recordstoreday.com.
A Perfect Circle wrapped up their third leg of North American tour dates last night with a stirring show in Phoenix, with a European trek beginning Dec. 2 in Glasgow.
The band’s North American tour kicked off with an intimate Grammy Museum performance to 200 lucky fans. The evening was a rarity for A Perfect Circle who just this week performed at Madison Square Garden and whose most recent hometown show was a sold-out outing at the venerable Hollywood Bowl. Howerdel spoke with Grammy.com about the Grammy Museum performance as well as the 12-song collection.
Steven Sebring (“Horses: Patti Smith and Her Band,” “Dream of Life”) directed a companion film to Eat The Elephant. Viewable via a custom prism, the hologram film is a first of its kind offering, and can be found in the Eat The Elephant deluxe box set. Sebring gave Revolver behind-the-scenes tour of his studio as well as discussing the work that went into the film. Several clips from the film have been released in 2D versions including the video for the album’s title track.
A Perfect Circle’s current line-up is Maynard James Keenan (Tool, Puscifer), Billy Howerdel (Ashes Divide), James Iha (Tinted Windows, Smashing Pumpkins), Jeff Friedl (Puscifer, The Beta Machine) and Matt McJunkins (Eagles of Death Metal, The Beta Machine). Greg Edwards (Failure, Autolux) is filling in for James Iha on all announced A Perfect Circle shows.
Eat The Elephant debuted atop numerous Billboard charts, grabbing the #1 spot on the Rock, Independent and Alternative Albums’ charts, a #2 entry on the Top Current Albums chart (for pure album sales) and a #3 album debut on the Top 200. This is the band’s fourth consecutive Top 5 debut on the Billboard Top 200.
