Waynesboro native and rapper Lil Skies will be coming to the Fillmore next month. Although he is not on a named tour right now, he will still be stopping by in Philly on December 11th. Skies last big release was his Life of a Dark Rose, his first non-independent album which dropped in January.
Skies was introduced to hip hop by his father who went by the name Dark Skies during his days as a rapper. At the age of 11, Lil Skies and his dad collaborated on their Father-Son Talk album which they recorded while the latter was recovering from a work related injury after a chemical explosion at his plant.
Lil skies dropped out of local Shippensburg college to focus on his music career, which quickly took off after opening for Fetty Wap. He picked up massive popularity with his two singles “Red Roses” and “Rude” last summer which helped him catch the eye of an A&R at Atlantic. Skies’ concerts are always a time, but there’s no questioning the extra excitement of a show this close to his hometown.
