It’s well known that in metal there’s an arm with pro-racist sentiments that glorify Nazism. Hellvetron is a band that shares its two sole members with Nyogthaeblisz, a black metal duo that’s released music on labels like Satanic Skinhead Propaganda and has been accused of Nazism. So when Hellvetron were booked for a show at The Cobra Lounge in Chicago, local music fans were concerned.
One of Laura Jane Grace’s fans from the band Against Me! reached out to her via Twitter asking if she could possibly use her pull to alert The Cobra Lounge about Hellvetron’s performance and ties the band has with Nazism.
@LauraJaneGrace Cobra Lounge is hosting a Nazi band tonight and some of us who love your tunes in Chicago aren’t too pleased. Help us spread the word and get Hellvetron out of that venue??

Laura Jane Grace reached out to The Cobra Lounge and the venue canceled the show and released the following statement via Twitter. The Cobra Lounge responded with the following message regarding the show’s cancellation.
Hey @CobraLounge would you please, please, please address this? https://t.co/15i4Xmkx1c

@cobralounge released their response via Facebook:
All the love to @CobraLounge for canceling tonight's show due to a Nazi black metal band sneaking on the playlist. Nazis aren't welcome anywhere, especially in #Chicago. #NoPasarán #noPlatform #noNazis pic.twitter.com/arx7NI2F5q

There was a separate incident with another club owner in West Philadelphia who also reported a bad experience with members of Nyogthaeblisz. He said, “It was crazy, man — I didn’t know what to think of it,” bar manager Geno Tripodi of Final Score tells Philly Mag. “I see blood running down the band members’ arms … I thought it was makeup until I found the razors they left in the bathroom! Who in their right mind would do such a thing?”
The ties the band has with Nazism can be linked to one CD titled, Satanic Skinhead: Declaration of Anti-Semitic Terror. with their song titled, A Bewitched Outbreak Of Chemical Pestilence Quells The Subhuman Race. The cover of the CD is a horrifying photo of what looks to be the grave site of a Nazi concentration camp.
