Myrkur Announces Announces New EP Juniper for December 2018 Release and Shares Video For Title Track

Dark folk, atmospheric black metal composer Myrkur has just unveiled a new track titled “Juniper,” as a part of her upcoming EP of the same name. Along with the song itself, she has also released an ethereal music video, shot on 16mm film, and directed by Philippe de Granade.

On this new track, Myrkur, born Amalie Bruun, has demonstrated her ability to write an infectious chorus without compromising any of her artistic vision. The lush string arrangements of the song act as a perfect background to the stirring music video. Along with shots of Bruun herself, de Granade wove in scenes of a little girl holding a dead bird, with images of animal corpses flashing by.

The classically trained multi-instrumentalist Dane has worked with producer Jaime Gomez Arellano (who has also worked with Ghost, Paradise Lost, Solstafir, and Cathedral) on the Juniper EP. Along with the title track, the EP contains “Bonden og Kragen,” a reinterpretation of a 17th century Danish trad folk song.
