Maggie Rogers @ The Fillmore 3/30

Maryland singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers announced her “Heard It In A Past Life” world tour last week on Instagram. The tour is in support of her new album of the same name that is expected next January 18th. Her stop in Philly is slated for March 3rd at the Fillmore. The singer also stated in the Instagram post that all North American fans who buy a ticket to the tour will also receive a free CD copy of the album after it comes out next year. The show will also feature R&B singer Melanie Faye.

Rogers has had an interesting career thus far which started with her debut album The Echo in 2012. The project was recorded in a closet in her high school that she turned into her first “studio”. Maggie then made her way to New York University, where she played her song “Alaska” for Pharrell Williams in a masters class. Pharrell’s reaction to it went viral and Maggie’s popularity as a musician skyrocketed. The song became a hit and attracted listeners to first two albums which had yet to take off in terms of commercial success.
Philly fans who can’t wait until next March to see Rogers are in luck, as she is currently touring with Mumford & Sons and will be coming to the Wells Fargo Center on December 7th. In addition to that, she recently put out a music video for her single “Light On”, and even made an appearance on SNL last weekend. Big things are no longer on the horizon for Rogers, they’ve arrived.
