Ella Mai @ The Fillmore 3/13

London R&B Singer Ella Mai is slated to perform at The Fillmore next March 13th, as she makes a stop along her spring North American tour. “The Debut Tour” may be her first headlining tour, but she has some impressive history opening for Kehlani and Bruno Mars on tours over the last few years. The tour is in support of her debut album Ella Mai which dropped  just a few weeks ago, on October 12th.

Mai is best known for her hit single “Boo’d Up” which became massively popular this spring after she released the music video. The tune helped her burst onto playlists of seemingly everyone, but she had garnered attention long before that from fellow industry giants. Mai was originally discovered by producer DJ Mustard after he heard covers that she posted on Instagram.

After releasing a trio of mixtapes, Ella finally hit us with her debut album this fall, featuring names such as Chris Brown and John Legend. Her exceptional voice delivers lively but soulful bars over an interesting mix of modern and 90s R&B sounds. Mai has already started turning the heads of many, even forcing a change in location from the previously planned Theatre of Living Arts to the slightly larger Fillmore in response to heavy demand. Tickets are still available for the Fillmore show, but are going quick and rising in price on resale, so be sure to secure yours soon.
