A tribute concert has been announced to remember the late Scott Hutchison, frontman of Frightened Rabbit. The show is titled Tiny Changes: A Celebration Of the Songs of Scott Hutchison, with all proceeds going to benefit the Scott Hutchison Fund which is a mental health charity set up by Hutchison’s family. The concert will celebrate the life and music Hutchison brought to the world and will raise awareness for mental health.
Special performances throughout the night will take place from artists including Julien Baker, Kevin Devine, the National’s Aaron Dessner, the Hold Steady’s Craig Finn, and Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard. Death Cab for Cutie recently paid tribute to Hutchison by releasing a cover of Frightened Rabbit’s song “My Backwards Walk.” Of his former touring mate and friend Gibbard said, “He was such an amazing writer and such an amazing human being. I think it’s been really wonderful to see in the tributes to him how much wider his music had gone than I’d ever really known. This music was as important to these people as it was to me.” Frightened Rabbit have recently announced their first show following the death of Hutchison. They will be performing at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Bandstand as park of the Scotland-wide “Sleep in the Park” event which raises millions of dollars to fight homelessness.
