Decibel has announced the 2019 lineup for their third annual Decibel Metal and Beer Fest, a two-day beer festival dedicated to bringing fans the best of two worlds. This year, the event will be held at the Fillmore in Philadelphia on April 13-14, the PRP reports.
The festival will feature 11 top metal bands, including Baroness, Deathheaven, Obituary and more. It was also announced that two bands, Obituary and Enslaved, will both be playing one of their albums in full. Obituary will be performing their 1990 album, Cause of Death, and Enslaved will be playing their 1994 release, Frost, in its entirety.
One of the major acts for this show is Baroness, the heavy metal band out of Georgia. The band released their fourth album, Purple, in 2015. This album featured the song “Shock Me,” which earned them a Grammy nomination for best metal performance. As of now, the band is working on their next album, which they say is almost recorded.
Aside from music, the band will feature eight breweries from around the country. Currently, the list includes Broken Goblet, Three Floyds, Burial, Weyerbacher, Adroit Theory, Atlas, Wake and Burnt Hickory.
Decibel has also promised that the current list includes initial bands and breweries. More will be announced in December, including an additional headliner.
This is the third time that Decibel has hosted the event, and marks a return to Philadelphia where the event started. The first event happened in 2017 at the Fillmore, and included acts such as Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Municipal Waste.
While the above list is already advertising the third annual show in April, the second annual show has not happened yet. The second show, titled Decibel Metal and Beerfest: Los Angeles, is being held at the Wiltern on December 1-2 and will feature acts such as Testament and Triptykon.
The schedule features a total of 14 acts, including Pig Destroyer, who performed at the first festival in Philidelphia. Pig Destroyer also released their new album, Head Cage, in September.
Attendees have the option to buy one or two-day tickets, as well as a “Metal & Beer” ticket or “Just Metal” ticket for those who just want to enjoy the music. For fans looking to attend the Philadelphia show, tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. EST.
