Nine Inch Nails Releases Live Footage Video of “Ahead of Ourselves” from Recent Show

If you ever wanted to get a taste of what it’s like to perform for thousands of adoring fans Nine Inch Nails is giving you a chance. In a new video from the band’s Cold and Black and Infinite North America 2018 Tour viewers get a first-person-view of the band during a live performance “Ahead of Ourselves.”

Directed by Brook Linder, the black and white video gives the viewer a sense of how it feels to be on stage as it deftly moves through the band during one of their North American shows. Extreme close-ups allow the viewer to get an up close and personal view of the members as they perform. Some of the most interesting shots come as the camera quickly pans over to NIN lead singer Trent Reznor as thousands of fans cheer him on.

Linder expertly captures the energy the band, who are known for their visual and audio shows. Combined with the fast-paced movement of the camera, flashing lights and the band’s performance this is a perfect snapshot of Nine Inch Nails.

As evidenced in the video, the band takes a lot of pride in their performance. This was obvious in how Reznor criticized Kanye West and The Weeknd for copying the stage performance of NIN.

The video comes with news that the band is extending their North American tour to include a headlining tour in Mexico City. The band announced that they will be performing at El Plaza Condesa on Nov. 19, one day after they headline at the Corona Capital festival.

The current Cold and Black and Infinite tour was announced with the release of the band’s new album, Bad Witch. The 6-track album was released in June through The Null Corporation and Capitol Records. This is the ninth studio album for the band since their 1989 debut Pretty Hate Machine.

With their tour still selling out across the nation, Nine Inch Nails doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. The current tour is scheduled to end in December at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
