Courtesy of The FADER, Tove Lo has premiered a new 25 minute long cinematic take on her 2017 album Blue Lips, also appropriately named “Blue Lips” and directed by artist Malia James. The final part of her Lady Wood Series, the short film stars Tove Lo and Ana Coto as Ebba and Kit. They are two best best friends who embark on a crazy road trip adventure with Tove Lo’s latest album as the thumping, pulsating soundtrack.
Kit has just experienced a devastating breakup and she hopes he upcoming trip with Ebba will snap her out of her funk. The girls go out for some clubbing therapy and have an amusing scene afterward where Kit has a little two much fun under the influence in a convenience store. The next day, Kit goes out and meets a cute guy while shopping. She invites him out to a party that night and is clearly excited about her new discovery as she tells Ebba. Conflict arises at the party when Kit’s new guy sees Ebba first.
“Blue Lips” is Tove Lo’s third short film, following “Fire Fade” and “Fairy Dust” both of which featured multi-artist soundtracks. Tove Lo currently has a feature of Major Lazer’s newest single “Blow That Smoke.”
