The experimental rock band, This Will Destroy You, surprised fans earlier this week by unexpectantly dropping their sixth studio album. Entitled New Others Part Two, the album is the sequel to New Others Part One, which only came out just a few weeks ago via Dark Operative. Fans of the band had waited patiently for four years between records, and now it appears they were busy making more music.
The quartet recorded the album alongside Grammy award-winning producer John Congleton, who was there with the band ten years earlier by producing their sophomore record. In a tweet posted early Monday night, the band teased the release.
Remember when new music would come out on Tuesdays, so people would stay up until midnight on Mondays just to hear it? The world is so different now. But does it have to be? pic.twitter.com/oDEtkM53EU

New Others Part Two, according to a press release, continues the band’s “new tradition of a familiar, but evolved ethos wherein the memorable melodic component present in their early work once again soars atop progressive sonic territories for the band and listener alike.”
The record is now available both digitally and physically. The physical copy of the album will feature artwork and photography by Christopher King. For fans who like the idea of holding a record in their hands can purchase their physical copy by visiting the Dark Operative Store here. Those who stream can get their digital copy by visiting the Dark Operative Bandcamp site.
This Will Destroy You includes core members Jeremy Galindo and Christopher King along with drummer Robi Gonzalez. The band was formed back in 2005 in San Marcos, Texas by guitarist Galindo and King, bassist Raymond Brown and drummer Andrew Miller. Their debut album, Youth Mountain was self-recorded and self-produced and released that same year. In 2016, the band released a reissue of the album in celebration of its 10th anniversary.
