The electronic duo, Orbital, have recently announced that they will be performing a couple of US shows this December. The select performances are the band’s first set of Us dates since 2012. The newly announced dates include a set at the Brooklyn Steel in New York on December 4th, a set at the Midway in San Francisco on December 6th and a set at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles on December 8th.
The band is supporting their critically acclaimed LP, Monsters Exist which came out September 14th via Believe/ACP Recordings. During the week of its release, the LP topped both the UK Charts at #12 and the Dance Chart at #1. Here in the US, the album landed on the Billboard chart which marks the first time for the duo since 2004. The record debut at #24 on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums. Monsters Exist includes singles, “Tiny Foldable Cities,” and “The End is Nigh.”
Brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll formed the dance duo of Orbital, which takes the name from the Greater London’s orbital motorway, the M25, and are from Sevenoaks, Kent, England. Their first album was released back in 1991 and since then have put out a total of nine albums full of material. The brothers have also helped create the soundtracks to the feature films Event Horizon, Pusher, and Octane.
The duo is about to take off on their UK tour, the upcoming dates, which starts October 18th, will take them from the Netherlands to Germany, to Sweden to Denmark to London before wrapping up on November 20th in Manchester. There will be a slight break where the brothers will take a rest before crossing the pond to the US to start their year ending US dates.
