Musically speaking, Isis, the post-metal band, performed together this past weekend for the first time in eight years with their previous name being Celestial in 2010. The band reunited at fellow musicians Caleb Scofield’s tribute at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Scofield tragically lost his life earlier this year, after his pickup truck collided with a toll plaza barrier on the F.E. Everett Turnpike. He was 39 years old at the time. Scofield was a member of bands Cave In and Old Man Gloom, serving as the bassist and vocalist. Isis performed a five-song set, opening with “Carry.” See the set of songs from the band performed below and the Livestream of their performance, starting at around the 2:55:20.
According to The PRP, bands 27, Old Man Gloom and Pelican also performed at the tribute show as well as Cave In, later joined by Caleb‘s brother Kyle and Nate Newton of Converge, Old Man Gloom. The proceeds from the night will go towards the family of Scofield. Mammifer and Sumac also performed, with Sumac recently releasing their album Love In Shadow, featuring the 15-minute long single “Attis’ Blade.”
