Who doesn’t love a good cat fight? A little bit of drama? Where better to go for such entertainment than social media? The Twitter war between Azealia Banks and Lana Del Rey continues.
Recently Lana Del Rey confronted and criticized Kanye West, via Instagram of course, over his support for Donald Trump. Following West’s takeover of Saturday Night Live where he ended a performance with a pro-Trump rant, West posted a photo of himself sporting a “Make America Great Again” hat on Instagram. This sparked Del Rey’s reaction, referring to both West and Trump as narcissists and calling Trump’s Presidency “a loss of the country” and West’s “support of him is a loss for the culture.”
In retaliation Azealia Banks called out Lana, saying “Don’t use Kanye for your own vapid attempts to seem politically aware when there is SO MUCH MORE bootleg witchcraft you could be doing to TRY and take down 45,” Banks wrote. “Kanye is not your enemy or THE enemy.”
The back-and-forth tweet war continued, per Pitchfork, with criticism of one another’s appearance, threats of violent confrontation, and even suing.

This is not the first time Lana Del Rey has publicly expressed her political views. Earlier this year the singer postponed a show in Israel after it was confirmed that she would not be able to perform in Palestine around the same time, although she claimed it was “not a political statement”.
This wouldn’t be the first time Banks is involved in controversy over social media either. January of 2017 the rapper had her Facebook account suspended following “an odd series of events”.
Is the feud between these two female musicians over or will we see continued escalating Tweets? Only Twitter and time will tell.
