Rapper Pusha T will be coming to Philly this November 23 when he stops by the Fillmore. The tour is in promotion of his recent album Daytona which release this summer. Despite recently cancelling a number of stops along the tour, this show remains scheduled. Doors will be opening at 7:00 PM with the concert at 8:00 PM. Tickets start at $35.00 for general admission, but tables are still available at the venue starting at $167.00.
Pusha T emerged onto the music scene in the 90s when he was part of the hip hop duo Clipse, along with his brother No Malice. In 2010 however, Pusha made the first step in his solo career signing to Kanye West’s label GOOD Music. Since then Pusha has release three different studio albums, and become the president of Kanye’s label.
“King Push” made headlines this summer for a few reasons, one being the success of Daytona, but more noticeably his beef with Canadian rapper Drake. “Infrared”, one of the songs off Daytona features a few jabs from Pusha at both Drake and his long time business partner Lil’ Wayne. The rivalry escalated with both Pusha T and Drake releasing subsequent diss tracks, in one of which Pusha publically broke the news of Drake’s new found fatherhood. Pusha’s success on Daytona goes much further than Drake however, as the 7 track album starts hot with “If You Know You Know” and does not let up. The album combines Kanye’s signature production work with Pusha’s refined and deliberate verses.
