6LACK @ The Fillmore 11/12

Atlanta R&B artist 6LACK announced a world tour for his recent sophomore album East Atlanta Love Letter, including a stop in Philadelphia at the Fillmore this November 12. The album came out just last week and serves as the next step in the career of a young singer fresh off the commercial success of his debut album Free 6LACK. 6LACK (pronounced “black”), struggled early on in his career, restrained by an unfavorable deal with a label. It wasn’t until 2016 that the artist found himself commercially free, and wasted no time showing the industry what he could do. 6LACK gained massive popularity from the first single off his debut album “Problems”, as he watched a song he recorded in his kitchen become certified as double platinum.

With East Atlanta Love Letter, 6LACK continues to mix quiet, simple drums with heart wrenching synths to announce and reflect on love, relationships, fame, and pain. While telling the stories that come with his newfound success, he also sticks to his roots enlisting the help of fellow Atlanta artists Offset and Future, who he sampled before on “Ex Calling”. 6LACK’s soft but sharp voice comes through on the entire album, passionately delivering his emotional lyrics. Sharing this experience with the artist himself at the large but personal Fillmore will certainly be unique and incredible.
