New music from Sharon Van Etten is on the horizon! After a four year hiatus, the singer-songwriter has announced her new album Remind Me Tomorrow will be released on January 18th, 2019. The new album serves as the follow up to her 2014 album We Are There. In a press release, the new album as a whole is being described as “magnetism towards new instruments: piano keys that churn, deep drones, distinctive sharp drums. There are dark intense synths, a propulsive organ, a distorted harmonium.” See the album’s 10 song tracklist and artwork below.
Along with the album announcement, she has also released the lead single from the album, “Comeback Kid.” Originally set out to be a piano ballad, Etten wanted to switch things up with it being a bold and impactful anthem and specified it not wanting to be a pretty song. Etten recently collaborated with Marissa Nadler for her song “I Can’t Listen To Gene Clark Anymore” along with its video and covered LCD Soundsystem’s “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down.” She will also be hitting the road for a few gigs starting this Saturday at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in Austin, TX alongside Paul Mccartney, Metallica, Arctic Monkeys, and The National.
