Members of Mastodon, Slipknot, Dillinger Escape Plan and More to Team Up for Best Buddies Tennessee Benefit Performance

As reported by The PRP, Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg will be holding a benefit concert for the non-profit Best Buddies Tennesse. The show will be held at The Basement East in Nashville, TN on October and the show will feature members of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon, The Offspring, Suicidal Tendencies, Exodus, Mutoid Man, and The E St. Band playing with Weinberg. The all-star lineup will be running through covers of classic rock bands such as The Who and The Misfits along with plenty of others. Best Buddies is a non-profit organization that assists in helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities find friendship, employment, and leadership opportunities.

Weinberg is the son of Max Weinberg, the longtime drummer of The E St. Band, who have backed Bruce Springsteen for over 45 years. Weinberg has been drumming in Slipknot ever since the band parted ways with founding member Joey Jordison in 2013 and he played on the band’s most recent release, .5: The Gray Chapter, which came out in 2014. Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has confirmed that the band is currently working on recording new material and that a new album will see the light of day sometime in the near future.
