Childish Gambino Postpones Upcoming Tour Dates Due to Injury

Beloved rapper Childish Gambino may be facing some difficulties during his upcoming tour dates. His “This is America” tour has been earning slew of ecstatic reviews as he has been making his way throughout the country, especially as Donald Glover has said that it will be his last under the Childish Gambino moniker.

However, at the Dallas show on Sunday, it seems that Glover had received an injury. Shortly after the show had concluded, reports began to circulate on social media that Glover had ended the set early, skipping an encore that included essentials “Redbone” and “V. 3005” that he has been playing at other dates on the tour.

The day after, TMZ reported that Glover had broken his foot during the show. Several concert-goers told TMZ Glover “misstepped during a dance move.”

Since the injury, he has already postponed a Los Angeles show at The Forum. Now, it has been announced that Donald Glover “has to sit some dates out” on the “This is America” tour. It is as of yet unclear how many dates Glover will have to miss out on, but he has so far cancelled his appearance at Austin City Limits festival.

Festival organizers have moved the electronic music duo Justice into the headline set for each Saturday of the festival and Houston rapper Travis Scott will take Gambino’s spot on the big stage on Sunday. Festival organizers say fest-goers who bought a ticket for Saturday of weekend two, when Scott was originally scheduled to perform can exchange their ticket at no charge for a Weekend two Sunday ticket by contacting Front Gate Tickets.

UPDATE: Following the original foot injury, Donald Glover has come back to say that he will have to postpone the entire Australian leg of his tour. He was also forced to postpone his October 30 concert in Paris and his November 4 show in London. The latter was moved to March 24, 2019, and the Paris show is yet to receive a new date.

Glover explained in a very short and sweet statement: “I’m not ready to put on 100% shows. apologies to the fans. i will be back soon.”
