Jeff Tweedy Announces New Album Warm For November 2018 Release and Shares Lead Single “Some Birds”

Jeff Tweedy, the singer and guitarist of the acclaimed American rock band, Wilco, announced that he will release his new solo album in the coming months. Warm will include all new material by Tweedy and produced and recorded by the singer at Chicago’s legendary studio, The Loft. The album has help from some of Tweedy’s usual collaborator, Spencer Tweedy, Glenn Kotche and Tom Schick.

Warm is Tweedy’s second solo album and follows Together at Last, an album, which was released last year in 2017 and features mostly acoustic versions of Wilco’s songs. Tweedy’s forthcoming album will be his first proper solo album. It is slated to come out November 30th via dBpm Records. Fans can pre-order the record by going to Jeff Tweedy’s official website

Today, the announcement for the new album is not the only news being unveiled. In conjunction with the album news, dBpm records have shared the lead single off the record, “Some Birds.” The song, according to Tweedy, is “like a lot of songs on WARM, being a confrontation between self and shadow self simultaneously feeling I’m to blame and not to blame, present and gone, and utterly confused, but determined to hold someone accountable.” The video is directed by Seth Henrikson and features Tweedy performing in a hair salon while his doppelgänger gets pampered. It is a fun video showcasing his fashion side and includes a cool clip of Tweedy playing his instrument with multiple hands.

Hendrikson made a comment about the video expressing that, “When I got the call to collaborate with Jeff on the video for ‘Some Birds’ it was a thrill and an honor. The concept for the video naturally highlights Jeff’s amazing songwriting and lyrical genius. However, it also exploits another of Jeff’s gifts — his uncanny sense of men’s fashion and hairstyles. I’m excited to share it with Tweedy fans!”
