Rammstein Puts Finishing Touches on Upcoming Seventh Studio Album

Blabbermouth has reported that the legendary German industrial metal band Rammstein have put the finishing touches on their new studio album. The band posted on Facebook that they were currently recording the final pieces of the record in the form of orchestral and choral recordings. It has been nine years since the band released Liebe ist fur alle da fans are no doubt excited at the prospect of new record coming out later this year. The band has been dropping hints this whole year that they were deep in the process of recording, with the band members hold up in a studio in Minsk, Belarus for much of the year.

Though, this may end up being the final album from Rammstein as guitarist Richard Krupse has indicated that the demands of recording new material and the constant demand’s of the band’s incredible live show make the prospect of doing another album unlikely at this point.

While the band has not released a new album in almost a decade, they have been incredibly busy on the concert scene, continuing to improve upon their ridiculous stage show and shooting a live concert movie Rammstein: Paris with the acclaimed director Jonas Akerlund which came out a few years ago.

Since their formation in 1994, Rammstein has developed into one of the biggest bands in the world, with their live performances becoming the stuff of legend and earning them a devoted fanbase the world over. Unlike almost every other big name metal/rock band, Rammstein songs are sung almost entirely in German, with singer Till Lindemann’s bellowing baritone roaring over thrashing guitars and dense electronic instrumentation.

UPDATE (10/8): According to prp, the metal band of Rammstein will release their long-awaited new album sometime in Spring of 2019. It’s been nine years since their last album, Liebe ist fur alle da was released so fans are itching for new material. Now, it appears the wait is finally over. Paul Landers, the guitarist for the band wrote in a chat with Musicradar.com, that “…it looks like this new record will be coming out next spring.”

“Right now, it looks like this new record will be coming out next spring, and what we’ve been mainly doing is playing together in a circle, with all the guys in one room. We all go into the mixing desk and I had my PL1 prototype going direct. Same for the some of the other guys – our drummer [Christoph Schneider] has these electronic drums, so we’ve been using that to play a bunch of ideas together.

It hasn’t been like a pre-production where each member is alone; it’s been more of an all-together kind of thing. We liked the sound of it so much that we’ve decided to make the record more of a band-unit recording than a bunch of guys playing separately.

We’ll have to see how it all ends up on the record, but the basic idea is you are hearing a band playing… you could say it’s inspired by our live sound. That’s exactly what we’re going for. The PL1 really helped on that front because it had every sound I needed.”

UPDATE (12/20): In an interview with Heavy Consequence posted earlier this week, guitarist Richard Z. Kruspe of Rammstein revealed the band’s plan to release the album in April 2019. This is not a firm release date yet, as it’s still tentative. In the interview, he said the band was mixing the album in Los Angeles.

UPDATE (1/22): According to the band’s official Twitter page, Rammstein is inching their way closer to releasing their upcoming seventh studio album. The post, which was posted earlier this morning shows the band hard at work in the studio with the caption, “Finalizing the mix for the new album in Santa Monica, CA.” No exact date on when the album is set to release has been announced but according to the PRP, it may be looking like sometime in April.
