Beach House release music video for “Drunk in LA” a song from 7 –the bands seventh studio album. The music video showcases an artistic journey, captured and directed by Spacemen 3’s Sonic Boom. This macrocosm of the universal energy flow can be described as a blissful awakening.
Observing the faceless journey, one may feel they have stepped into the shoes of the camera person. The artistic and dreamy landscape flows from scene to scene in a hypnotic daydream, filled with horses running in water to tours of artistic venues.
The video captivates your imagination through a scintillating storm of sound and vision. Your senses are awakened to a dazzling array of tall trees, for one who may be lying down or merely floating softly through the windy roads. Cells and globs of membranes morph before your eyes as the song unfolds.
The group says in an interview, “We were out having dinner and (Sonic Boom) mentioned an idea for a video where the viewer is always looking up from the ground,” Beach House said in a statement. “When he sent it to us, we complimented on the trippy, dreamlike nature of the video and he wrote that it was essentially just a day in his life.”
Beach House recently took the stage at Hollywood Forever Cemetary in August 2018. The duo took the stage while Victoria Legrand charmed the audience. “So nice to be with you tonight in this very special place in Los Angeles,” she shared, showing her appreciation for the unique venue. “Anybody getting a Woodstock vibe feeling right now?” she asked the audience, “I’m getting a feeling like a storm is coming and people are about to start climbing things.”
The self titled album, Beach House came out in 2006, followed by Devotion (2008), Teen Dream (2010), Bloom (2012), Depression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Stars (2015), B-sides and Rarities (2017) and 7 (2018).
