Experimental rock artist Dylan Carlson has cancelled his European tour after being hospitalized for an infection on September 8th. The artist is currently receiving treatment in Berlin, where he was originally scheduled to perform until this announcement.

Carlson had just finished performing a show in Hamburg, Germany the night before, after performing 5 shows across the continent prior to this cancellation. The artist wrapped up a North American tour in August, in support for his latest album release Conquistador.
Sargent House Europe, who represents Carlson stated that he may have to cancel future shows however, they “will let everyone know as soon as we find out the status from the doctor.” Carlson is currently scheduled to play a few shows with his band Earth in October, beginning in Portland, Oregon.

The guitarist gave some background as to why he has been hospitalized, explaining that he experienced liver failure in 2010 and was diagnosed with hepatitis B. “In(sic) 2010 I had liver failure,” Carlson explained on Twitter.”And was diagnosed with hepatitis B ‘wild type’, but the doctors here are saying there may now be something else going on in addition to that (currently awaiting more test results).”

He also explained that this was extremely urgent and that he would not have cancelled his tour unless it was serious. “Those(sic) who know me well know that cancelling shows has never been an option for me, until now,” Elaborated. “Thank(sic) you for all your concern, and i’m sorry for missin out on playin music for you all.”

As of press time Carlson is scheduled to perform for David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption however, this latest update may have him cancel once again.In the meantime, Carlson sends out his best wishes to his fans on Twitter.
