Dale Crover, the drummer of the legendary band the Melvins, played his first ever solo show at the Hi-Hat in Los Angeles a few weeks ago and the Melvins recently posted a video from the performance. The song that the Melvins shared on social media was the rocking “Hillbilly Math,” which is off Crover’s first ever solo release from 2017, The Fickle Finger of Fate. Professionally shot thanks to Joyful Noise Recordings, the live version of “Hillbillly Math” contains plenty of rocking riffs and a gruff vocal performance from Crover, who also delivers some killer guitar work as well.
The Melvins came out with a new release this year in the form of the blistering Pinkus Abortion Technician, which featured Jeff Pinkus of the Butthole Surfers on bass. The album included an impressive mash up the James Gang hit “Stop” with the Butthole Surfers song “Going to Florida.”
You can watch footage of Dale Crover playing live in the player below.
