Kurt Vile Announces New Album Bottle It In For October 2018 Release and Shares New Single “Bassackwards”

After weeks of speculation ever since he released a new music video, Kurt Vile has officially announced a new album, Bottle It In, which is due out on October 12th via Matador Records. He has also released a new single for the song “Bassackwards,” another classic slice of psychedelic guitar rock. As the name suggests, the song contains layers of backward guitars layered over each other. This is combined with regular acoustic guitar and a driving drum beat.

As usual, Vile delivers a strong vocal performance, with his trademark laid-back delivery. The looping epic of a song, which lasts over 9 minutes in length, is another impressive song from Vile and it will surely please fans of his other work. Vile has also announced more tour dates to his already lengthy touring schedule for this fall and next winter. Vile just recently wrapped up string of tour dates this summer in addition to a collaboration with Dean Ween.

While Vile has kept up a relentless touring schedule in recent times and a wonderful collaborative album with Courtney Barnett in the form of Lotta Sea Lice, Vile has not released solo album of his own since 2015’s excellent b’lieve i’m goin’ down…
