For those unfamiliar, Dua Lipa is an English singer and songwriter who began her career covering other musicians on Youtube. Now, though, she is an original pop powerhouse that has influenced many aspects of the mainstream music world. Now, Dua Lips has released a new video and song in collaboration with Silk City. The song is titled “Electricity.”
The video opens to amateur shots of New York before Dua Lipa takes center stage in her apartment, drinking water. As the video progresses, one can recognize the flash dance vibe Lipa is channeling for her character. As she dances, more people in the city see the music and dancing and join her in the apartment as the song takes them on a whirlwind. About halfway through the video, Diplo and Mark Ronson (who are also featured on the song) get stuck in a freight elevator due to the electricity surges in the building (see what I did there?) The solo dancing turns into a sultry and sweaty summer night in New York with a wild dance party full of a million flash dances. Check out the whole video below.
