Nas and Kelis are no longer married and no longer on good terms. On April 26th, Kelis took the opportunity to share her story in an interview. She alleged “mental and physical abuse” by Nas during their marriage.
Nas has issued various statements via Instagram about Kelis’ accusations. He wrote, “This is the first and last time I’m addressing this.”
Out of seven Instagram posts, Nas makes several statements. He wrote, “Today I got acall from essence about my ex wife doing another sad fictitious story.”
He went on to say, “’everything with her is a plot and a scheme. Has no merit. No foundation… I didn’t want to speak up because I have real respect for our women. And definitely my son. I do not beat women.”
Their relationship has not been clean and clear for the past few years. Nas also claimed that Kelis physically attacked him earlier this year while their son was present. He wrote again, “It was my weekend and you denied me that because your parents were in town… I just went home. This has been my life for my son’s entire life. Even our son wonders why you treat me the way you do?”
Nas also claimed that she “insulted any and everyone” around them. He wrote, “Luckily for you our assistants all signed NDA’s or you would have a list of men and women who would happily talk about how verbally abusive and evil you are.”
